- Follow vessel operating procedures, participate openly in incident investigations, communicate lessons learned from all maritime incidents, participate in safety training and audits, and understand the company practices of continuous improvement processes and accountability from top to bottom
- Ensure positive morale through a continuous focus on crew well being and first class living conditions
- Maintain a zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol
- Believe that all accidents and injuries can be prevented
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations
- All hands understand their responsibility for the safety of their shipmates
- Review and understand job hazard procedures in advance of performing work

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
The goal of APH is to be the industry leader in Environmental Protection. While marine transportation is one of the environmentally clean modes of transportation, APH believes innovative vessel designs can make step change enhancements to this record. Environmental incidents generally involve human error, collisions, and mechanical failures.
APH vessel designs take into account all potential pollution sources and builds its vessels to mitigate spill or pollution potential. APH vessels are designed for superior navigation and maneuvering and to ensure any emissions comply with or surpass EPA standards. All APH self-propelled vessels are designed with diesel electric propulsion systems, with primary propulsion fuel being LNG, and are outfitted with electric deck machinery to prevent hydraulic spills.
